Its 5 in the morning and  my teeth have been keeping me awake  t this point im really trying to trust God that he loves me and be calm through the pain. That he wouldn't let me go through things that hurt without a good objective or reason for it. Im trying to trust fully that he loves me even when it hurts. It’s been about an hour and the pain meds are kicking back in so I’m going to probably try to sleep some again.

Its 4th of July and sometimes all you can do is hear them fireworks.

Hey ya'll! I thought I would update on my life!

Who knows if i will ever actually publish this thing. Anyway. So this summer I have been extremely blessed with great employment opportunities, that are both flexible and really cool about the hours I work.
The first job I have is an internship with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Garden Grove in the "Family Campus " office, as a "marketing and funds intern". Basically I help co-ordinate photo shoots with the various schools and get ready for the different exhibits and Galas that take place  during the year. I get to use a lot of art and personal creativity  in regards to that job ( Thank you OCHSA), and even get my own desk  in the little office room I share with Francyne and Tricia my bosses(who are bith super cool, and young--like 26ish )

My second job is as a Hostess at the Cheese Cake Factory at the Garden Walk in Anaheim. Man is that job fast! Tonight is my 3rd night working there and my shoes are so bad that when i put them on I almost started crying, they were cutting into the same place they had rubbed raw on Monday. I accidentily ordered my shoes  a size too small, and since I don't have any other shoes that are slip proof I have to wear them until my new size comes in.  :,(  Luckily I got 2 band aids and was able to keep the shoes from making me bleed anymore. I felt a bit better after that- a.k.a. I could walk without thinking of that Grimm's fairy tale version of Snow White where they give the queen hot iron shoes to dance in till she dies, at Snow White's wedding, as punishment for being so wicked. Talk about INTENSE!! Totally sympathize. Graphic? eh. Thats how it goes. The life of a wicked queen or a rookie hostess. WHY re our fates so similar????!!

Haha J.K. I get to go home with discounted cheesecake any night I WANT. YEAH. I really have nothing to complain about. And my two good friends Dirk and Todd both work at the parking structure that I park at so I get to see them not ONLY at church, etc. but also now after crazy work shifts, on my way home which so far has been so great! I love those guys.

So fireworks.I worked on Unlce Sam's day today, but that is totally fine because I no longer have to work on the  Lord's day. YEAHHHHHH!!! That was actually really important to  me. My manager kept scheduling me for Sunday's  and after a few emails and talks we worked it out  where I don't work Sundays. And thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things and  kindness , the 2 Sundays I did get  scheduled on  I was able to change my shift. I feel really thankful for that. Its really important for me to be able to keep the Sabbath day Holy, which for me means setting aside one day in the week to rest from my normal labors and routine, and devout my time to worshiping God, resting, being with family and going out and serving those in need.

Honestly America is over worked. Everyone regardless of religious afflitation should take  a rest day for mental sanity and over all physical health. Unfortunately our society has a deep desire to be entertained at all hours of the night and everyday therefore  people work themselves to the bone on crazy shifts in constant motion. Sad.  In Switzerland people still observe mostly Sunday as a day to be with family and rest. I believe they are a healthier better functioning country for it. Definitely a bit less stressed. Actually a lot less stressed.

Anyway so today I worked on Uncle Sam's day to replace the Sunday shift , and i t wasn't too bad. And as I'm working around 9:25PM outside I start to hear the Disneyland boom booooom bbbbbbbbbooooooooooooommm!! of fireworks and half acknowledge this thought that its ironic how close I am to the fireworks on the best night of the whole year for a fireworks show and yet cannot see them , becase of the trees. Heck i can see those fireworks usually from my house in Garden Grove 15 miles away most nights. and yet tonight INDEPENDENCE night, a block a way form it all nothing. Thats life.

But then my trainer Andrea pulls me over to the little Patio gate and onto the sidewalk and still carrying the glasses i was clearing we skip a little down the street and WAH-LA! There they are, those splashes of red and gold and blue light in the sky. It was a beautiful moment to be in, A gift.  It only lasted about 15 seconds because one server was like "we are all gonna get fired!" so we took that as our cue to go back inside.

and then I worked hard and cleaned up and sat people and learned and smiled and swallowed my pride when I got corrected and went home. And it is all good.

Happy birthday America!!

I love you.
